Yiddish Fight Club

Curator Eddy Portnoy shares the story behind Yiddish Fight Club, a look at the often-overlooked history of Jewish boxers and wrestlers and the colorful Yiddish slang of this world. Portnoy is a senior researcher at the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research, where this exhibit was first mounted. It will be in the Yiddish Book Center’s Brechner Gallery through September 30.
